About me

Swim Background & Experience

I grew up in Beaumont, Texas, where I started swim lessons with Lamar’s “Little Red Birds” when I was 3 years old. From then on, most of my formal swim instruction came from Camp Honey Creek for Girls in Hunt, Texas, where I spent a month each summer. There I not only learned the strokes, but I also competed in races, went through lifeguard training, did canoeing, and even synchronized swimming! If it involved the water- I was there!

 Teaching Experience

I have always had a passion for teaching and have been taking care of children for as long as I can remember whether that was coaching cheerleading for the preschoolers at my elementary school, babysitting, being a camp counselor, being a full-time nanny, or teaching swim lessons. I started my swim lesson journey in 2011 at Crawfish Aquatics in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and immediately fell in love with it. I never looked back and have been teaching swim lessons ever since! I also volunteer whenever possible for a non-profit swim lessons organization called Tankproof

Fun Facts

I love animals. I have two cats and a hedgehog. I grew up with a Sulcata tortoise that lives with my parents and is now 26 years old. I am working towards someday being fluent in Spanish and American Sign Language. My favorite place to be is the beach.

Why do you like working at MGR?

I haven’t lived in San Antonio for very long, but I’m excited for all of the new opportunities here! I love meeting new students and families and getting to know them better. Everyone at MGRSS is so helpful, friendly, and inviting and I love that I get to be a part of this family!
