About me

Swim Background

I started swimming through my neighborhood summer league team at about 5, then I decided to join Alamo Area Aquatics Association when I was 11 to swim year-round. I was state champion in the 200 IM for Texas my senior year representing John Marshall High School. I swam in college for the University of the Incarnate Word. While there I swam at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 200 Breaststroke and 200 IM.

Teaching Experience

I have done community service through an organization called SAYL (San Antonio Youth Literacy) where I taught children how to read. I coached at swim camps for Streamline Aquatics helping kids of all ages improve their swimming skills. I’ve taught swimming through MGR Swim Sports since April of 2019. I now help to train new staff members on different styles and techniques for teaching swimming.

Fun Facts

I’ve met many Olympians including Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte, and Missy Franklin. I love to play Ultimate Frisbee. My favorite stroke is the Butterfly. After years of research I’ve come to the conclusion that Spider-Man is, in fact, the best superhero ever.

Why do you like working at MGR?

I like being able to help the kids to do something that they couldn’t do before and seeing the excitement when they realize that they are improving. I also like the smaller class sizes so that I can make my lessons a little more individualized to each student’s needs.
